Wihlborgs sells Mollberg in Helsingborg to Elite Hotels

Wihlborgs is selling the property Mollberg 1 in central Helsingborg to Elite Hotels of Sweden for SEK 97.5 million. The sale is taking place in company form and possession is immediate.

The property has an area of approximately 8,000 m², of which just over 7,600 m² has been rented by Elite Hotel Mollberg since 1990. There are also three shop units in the building.

Hotell Mollberg has a long and exciting history. The name goes back to 1802, when Peter Mollberg bought the inn that was on the site. Over the years, the building has been demolished, rebuilt and converted to become the beautiful, historical building it is today.

"Elite Hotels contacted us and expressed a desire to purchase the property. We have worked together for many years and we know that this is a serious company that can manage the building well. Therefore, it feels right to complete the sale," says Anders Jarl, CEO of Wihlborgs Fastigheter.

"Mollberg is a unique hotel. The acquisition of the property is part of our long-term plan to develop the product. I expect that we will invest a further SEK 30 million in the property in the next few years," says Bicky Chakraborty, CEO and owner of Elite Hotels.

Elite Hotels also rents the Wihlborgs property Terminalen 2 in central Helsingborg, where the Elite Hotel Marina Plaza is located.
