Wihlborgs acquires development property in Lund

Through the acquisition of the property known as Landstinget 2, central Lund, Wihlborgs is strengthening its position as one of the leading property companies in Lund.

Wihlborgs has purchased the property known as Landstinget 2, central Lund, from the Municipality of Lund. The acquisition is being conducted as a property transaction and the purchase price is SEK 29 million. Wihlborgs will take possession on 1 April 2013. The acquisition strengthens Wihlborgs’ presence in central Lund.

The property, located 150 metres east of Lund Central Station, extends over a site measuring 1,928 square metres. Possession will be taken with right of ownership. The building, which comprises space totalling 2,900 square metres, was built in 1960 as an administrative facility for Malmöhus County Council. It has been used since the 1970s by the Technical Services Administration and the City Planning Office. These departments will relocate to Lund’s new municipal headquarters – known as “Kristallen – in spring 2014.

“Wihlborgs gains a welcome addition to its property portfolio, in the form of a very centrally located property in Lund”, says Anders Jarl, Chief Executive Officer, Wihlborgs Fastigheter AB. “Demand is strong for premises in central Lund, and we are looking forward to developing the property once the municipal authorities move to Kristallen”.
