Malmö University to rent space in Medeon, Malmö
Wihlborgs has signed a lease with Malmö University for 2,700 m2 of laboratory space in Medeon, Malmö. Medeon is a research park specializing in businesses in the field of the life sciences. The property is owned by Wihlborgs Fastigheter and the Medeon Research Park is jointly operated by the City of Malmö and Wihlborgs.
The building concerned was constructed in 2005 for Acadia Pharmaceuticals and equipped with modern laboratory facilities. Acadia subsequently closed down its operations in Sweden and the building has stood empty since 2010.

“It’s a pleasure to see a high-quality, modern building being brought back into use after standing empty for three years. We felt all along that it would be a pure waste of capital to refit the building and lease it out for a different business. Instead, we took a long-term view and searched for a company with laboratory operations. Now that Malmö University has a need for modern laboratory facilities we are in a position to meet their needs and make a good deal for all parties”.
