Wihlborgs sector leader in global sustainability ranking

In this year’s ESG assessment from the Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB), Wihlborgs was rated as one of the world’s most sustainable property companies. Wihlborgs was also named a global sector leader in the diversified property sector.

With five out of five possible stars and 91 out of 100 possible points, Wihlborgs belongs to the top 20 percent of sustainable property companies in the world. Wihlborgs was also named a GRESB Sector Leader in the “diversified property” category, meaning that Wihlborgs is one of the highest-performing companies in the world in this sector.

GRESB is a benchmarking tool that measures and evaluates sustainability at property companies from an investor perspective. A high GRESB rating indicates a high-quality sustainable property company.

Since 2019, Wihlborgs has increased its rating from 72 to 91 percent in 2022. Policies, risk assessments and goals as well as interactions with tenants and society are areas where Wihlborgs has some of the highest possible points. Environmental performance for Wihlborgs properties is also significantly better than the average for property companies in the GRESB evaluation.

“Over the last few years, we’ve invested considerable effort in gradually improving and environmentally certifying our properties, reducing our climate impact and strengthening our sustainability measuring and reporting, and it’s exciting to see it yield results. The complexity in the report is constantly increasing, so we also need to stay on our toes,” says Fredrik Ljungdahl, ESG controller at Wihlborgs.

“At Wihlborgs, we are working urgently on sustainability to integrate it throughout our business, so that our initiatives can make a real difference. A tool like GRESB is important for transparency and for investors to accurately evaluate us,” says Ulrika Hallengren, CEO of Wihlborgs.
